Abstract

Abstract. Infant development between 6–12 months is a critical phase for neurodevelopment, where environmental and
psychosocial stress can impact long-term growth and increase non-communicable disease (NCD) risks. To optimize
developmental monitoring and support, an integrated approach combining digital health technology and non-pharmacological
interventions is needed. The purpose of this study is to map the determinants of infant development and evaluate digital health
strategies in primary care. This study uses a scoping review design following the PRISMA-ScR framework. Literature was
sourced from Google Scholar and Crossref (2021–2026) using Publish or Perish software, with 15 relevant studies selected for
synthesis. The assessment revealed that maternal toxic stress, urban environmental conditions, and gut microbiome health are
key determinants affecting motor and cognitive scores. Interventions combining digital monitoring and complementary care
(such as physical stimulation protocols) showed positive improvements in tracking milestones and reducing developmental
deterioration. Evaluation of the synthesized evidence demonstrates that technology-driven primary care enhances early
detection accuracy by 25–30% and improves developmental outcomes. Recommendations for healthcare providers are expected
to integrate digital health monitoring alongside complementary interventions in primary care settings for infants aged 6–12
months to optimize neurodevelopmental health and prevent future NCD risks.
